What they need

About this Role

Are you a Mobile Engineer, HGV Technician, Plant Engineer or Forklift Engineer looking for a field based role across Bristol and the South West? As a Mobile Engineer with Dawsongroup EMC, you will use your mechanical and diagnostic skills to maintain and repair our specialist assets across the region, responding to breakdowns and servicing requirements while helping keep our customers operational.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across specialist vehicles, plant and EMC equipment.
  • Carry out servicing, PMI inspections, minor repairs and major repair work as required.
  • Use your knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel engines and electrical systems to diagnose and rectify faults.
  • Manage your workload and vehicle stock while travelling to customer locations across Bristol and the South West.
  • Complete electronic job records accurately and work closely with our service desk, supervisors and wider engineering team.

About You

You could currently be working as an HGV Technician, Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer, Forklift Engineer or in another relevant mechanical engineering role. Previous hands on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and gearboxes on HGVs, plant or forklifts is important, but we are open to transferable experience and people who are ready to apply their skills to a varied specialist fleet.

  • Practical experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic and gearbox systems on HGVs, plant or forklifts.
  • A recognised Plant or HGV Technician qualification, with NVQ Level 3 identified within the job specification.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, with electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Confidence using plant or fleet diagnostic equipment and electronic systems to record completed work.
  • A Class 2 HGV licence would be beneficial but is not essential.

Not sure you meet every point? If you have strong transferable engineering skills and the potential to succeed, we still want to hear from you. We want talented people from all backgrounds to feel confident putting themselves forward.
