Mobile Service Technician – Basic Maintenance

Mercedes-Benz of Monterey is launching a mobile service program for customers across the Monterey Peninsula. We’re looking for a dependable, customer-focused technician with hands-on experience performing routine automotive maintenance.

You’ll travel in a specially upfitted Sprinter van to scheduled customer appointments and complete approved basic services at their home or workplace. The dealership will provide the service van and appointment schedule.

What you’ll do

• Perform routine maintenance and light service work, such as oil and filter changes, battery testing and replacement, wiper blade replacement, and other approved services.
• Complete a walk-around inspection and document work performed, recommendations, and any concerns for the service team.
• Follow dealership procedures, service guidelines, and safety practices.
• Keep the Sprinter van, tools, and service area organized and presentable.
• Communicate professionally with customers, explain completed work, and represent Mercedes-Benz of Monterey with care.
• Arrive on time for scheduled appointments and keep the service team informed of progress or delays.

What we’re looking for

• Hands-on experience with basic automotive maintenance or light repair.
• A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to safely lift and handle automotive equipment and parts.
• Ability to use a smartphone or tablet to review appointments and document service.

Preferred: Automotive trade school, ASE coursework or certifications, dealership experience, or experience working with Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
