What they need

Lead Mobile Diesel Technician / Working Foreman

Ares Diesel Repair Inc. | Greater Houston, TX

About the Opportunity

Ares Diesel Repair is looking for an experienced diesel technician ready to take a leading role in a growing mobile fleet service company.

We service commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment at customer yards and roadside locations throughout Greater Houston. Our customers depend on their equipment to make a living, and they count on us for accurate diagnostics, quality repairs, and clear communication.

We need someone who can take ownership of a job from the initial complaint through the completed repair—someone with strong diagnostic skills, sound judgment, and the ability to keep work moving independently.

You will work directly with the owner to handle complex repairs, support other technicians, and take on increasing responsibility for scheduling, job coordination, and daily service operations.

What You’ll Do**

Diagnose and repair diesel equipment independently.** Troubleshoot engine performance concerns, electrical faults, starting and charging systems, cooling systems, fuel systems, and aftertreatment problems.

Handle commercial fleet repairs. Service and repair air brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain components, air systems, trailers, and related equipment.

Lead jobs from start to finish. Confirm the complaint, identify the failure, communicate repair needs, coordinate parts, complete the work, and verify the repair.

Help manage the daily workload. Work with the owner to prioritize breakdowns, organize scheduled maintenance, assign work, and keep customers informed.

Support and develop other technicians. Provide diagnostic guidance, reinforce proper repair procedures, and help maintain consistent workmanship.

Protect quality and safety. Follow service information, use proper repair procedures, and perform appropriate operational checks before releasing equipment.

Document your work clearly. Record findings, repairs, labor time, parts used, and additional recommendations in our service management system.

Represent Ares professionally. Communicate respectfully with customers and take care of their equipment, our tools, and the work area.

What We’re Looking For

Substantial professional experience repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment; Five or more years strongly preferred.

* Strong hands-on experience with **Cummins, PACCAR, Detroit, and/or Caterpillar** engines.

* Proven ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using scan tools, wiring diagrams, service information, and hands-on testing.

* Experience troubleshooting diesel aftertreatment systems, including DPF, SCR, and DEF-related faults.

* Ability to work independently in a mobile environment and make sound decisions about repairs, safety, and when to escalate a concern.

* Strong organization, reliable attendance, and the ability to follow through on commitments.

* Confidence communicating with customers and explaining findings clearly.

* Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

**Experience That Stands Out**

* Lead technician, working foreman, or service management experience.

* Previous mobile fleet or field service work.

* Experience coordinating multiple jobs, ordering parts, and directing other technicians.

* Heavy equipment diagnostics, hydraulic repairs, trailer repairs, and commercial vehicle inspections.

* Familiarity with Fullbay or a similar service management platform.

**The Right Fit**

You take pride in finding the actual cause of a problem and completing repairs correctly. You stay organized when priorities change, communicate early when something affects the job, and take responsibility for the quality of your work.

You also enjoy helping others improve. You can lead by example, maintain high standards, and work with the owner to build a dependable service operation.

For the right person, this position offers the opportunity to become a key leader at Ares and grow into broader operational responsibility as the company expands.

**To Apply**

Send your resume or a summary of your experience, including the engines and equipment you work on, your diagnostic strengths, and any experience leading technicians or managing service work. [email protected]
