In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of small engines and related equipment on-site at customer locations. Your expertise will keep engines and equipment running smoothly, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Duties

• Diagnose issues with small engines, most gasoline powered units, using schematics and technical knowledge.
• Perform repairs on various equipment such as lawnmowers, generators, construction machinery, and other small engine-powered tools.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks (tune ups) like oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug replacements, and belt adjustments.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools and electrical testing devices to complete repairs accurately (Company supplied tools)
• Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot belt configuration and retrieving part numbers
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards while managing heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, explaining repairs clearly and offering maintenance advice when needed.
• Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for each job performed. Acknowledge that an invoice will be sent later that day.

Skills

• Proven dealership experience or service technician background with small engine repair expertise.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of gasoline engines along with electrical systems.
• Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools and electrical testing instruments.
• Ability to perform machine maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
• Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs.
• Knowledge of automotive repair principles applicable to small engines and related equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy components safely during repair procedures while maintaining physical stamina.
• Sales aptitude for recommending parts or services that benefit the customer’s ongoing equipment needs.
