Mobile Vehicle Engineer

Martin Williams (Hull) Ltd is a leading commercial vehicle repair and maintenance company specialising in accident repairs, fleet maintenance, specialist vehicle builds and mobile repair services with sites in Hull, Dumfries and Newcastle.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Mobile Technician based in the Central Belt of Scotland region to join our expanding team.

The Role

As a Mobile Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out vehicle inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs at customer sites across Scotland. This is a varied and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical ability, customer service and self-motivation.

Ideally situated near to the central belt of Scotland, the mobile technician will be predominantly working across our customer sites in Scotland, occasionally working at the company base workshop in Dumfries.

The successful candidate will be provided with a fully equipped company vehicle and will represent Martin Williams (Hull) Ltd while working directly with customers. Occasional overnight stays may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs to commercial vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnose faults and undertake effective repairs.
• Complete inspections and maintenance checks in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Accurately record work completed and maintain service documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service while working at customer locations.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with Health & Safety legislation.
• Support workshop operations when required.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working on HGVs, commercial vehicles, trailers or similar equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours and travel.

Desirable Qualifications

• HGV licence (beneficial but not essential).
• Experience working in a mobile technician role.

Additional Information

This role will involve regular travel to customer locations and occasional overnight stays away from home when supporting customers further afield. Accommodation and reasonable expenses will be provided in line with company policy.

Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
