What they need

We are looking for a Mobilisation Engineer to play a key role in the successful delivery of newly awarded and existing contracts across the UK. Working closely with operational teams, estimators, clients and subcontractors, you'll help ensure contracts are mobilised efficiently, on time, and in line with client requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business where no two days are the same. You'll be involved in everything from site surveys and asset verification through to cost planning, contractor coordination and supporting the transition of contracts into live operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the mobilisation of new and existing contracts across the UK.
  • Conducting site visits, asset verification, and condition surveys.
  • Reviewing estimator pricing and assisting with mobilisation cost plans and budget control.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors to arrange maintenance schedules and obtain site information.
  • Working closely with Operations, HR, Health & Safety, Quality, and other internal teams to ensure a seamless mobilisation process.
  • Capturing, validating, and importing asset data into operational systems.
  • Supporting tender and pre-qualification submissions when required.
  • Preparing reports, conducting risk assessments, and identifying any gaps or exceptions in client information.
  • Providing engineering support during the early stages of contract mobilisation where required.

Location:

The candidate will be based within a commutable distance of St Ives, Cambridgeshire. The role will initially involve regular attendance at our Head Office and client sites before transitioning to a predominantly home-based position. Regular travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.

Hours of Work:

37.5 hours between Monday - Friday. Overtime expected and available.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Air Conditioning Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Solid experience within an M&E, Building Services, or Facilities Management environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients, engineers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel to sites nationwide, including occasional overnight stays.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Multi-skilled background across multiple M&E disciplines.
  • Experience in contract mobilisation, asset verification, condition surveys, or maintenance planning.
  • Experience working in a client-facing role.
  • Experience with CAFM systems and asset data management.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to respond to changing business needs at short notice.
  • Experience reviewing quotations, estimates, or maintenance cost plans.

What We Offer:

  • Annual Leave: 25 days + Bank Holidays
  • Enhanced Family-Friendly Benefits
  • Fertility Treatment Leave
  • Pension scheme with Scottish Widows
  • Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme
  • Death in Service Cover
  • Employee Referral Scheme
  • Employee & Family 360 Wellbeing Support
  • Employee of the Month Recognition Scheme
  • Career development and internal mobility across the Mecsia Group
