Mobility Principal Scientist

该职位来源于猎聘 Objective: Working as Principal Scientist in OEM business Technology team, understanding Axalta formulating practices, customer specifications and test methods, meanwhile, generating new technology and new methods to develop and maintain cost-effective, high-quality products for our customers which can be manufactured efficiently in Operations . Working with operations to transfer products smoothly into production and following our quality procedures to ensure continuous improvement. Discussing technical output with management/business and minor external presentations, impacting the profitability of the business by inventions and commercialized new products. Core Responsibilities:

• Develop/Optimize recipes for products following APQP process. Solve complex problems through DOE and statistical analysis. Identify and suggest new product ideas based on competitive intelligence and benchmarking. Introduce new technology ideas across multiple groups. Challenge, influence, and develop technical approaches.
• Recipes are also to be developed to be cost effective, meeting our customers’ requirements while using low-cost materials.
• Make sound decisions based on technical data. Apply fundamental knowledge/ understanding of coatings, resins, curing chemistries, and paint technology across a range of different coating layers and a range of different business specific applications.
• Keep test specifications and test methods up to date, develop new specifications and methods as required. Aim to minimize the amount of testing needed to meet our customers’ requirements..
• Influence across multiple groups in use and leveraging of in-house and new technology. Strong track record of establishing scientific/technical leadership.
• Provide knowledge to solve customer problems. Use high level understanding of customer specification requirements to develop customer future strategy and products.
• Work with operation team and other function to ensure new/modified product alignment (scale up) into production. Understand the process overview. Understand the operation procedure.
• Work with application team to develop application line simulation parameters to ensure that line trials and product introductions are right first time.
• When relevant, a Principal Scientist is responsible for finding suitable rework routes to support non-productive inventory reduction with product quality control.
• Show ability to generate new technology and ideas. Recognized for publications and presentations. Strong track record of establishing scientific/technical leadership.
• Shares knowledge through Axalta's internal communities of practice and networks to advance technical capability building and competency.
• Understand specific hazards on safety, health, environment related to the process. Knowledgeable of safety regulations and company standards Key Job Requirements:
• 8 years coating experience or above, ideally with OME/Commercial Vehicle/Industry/Refinish coating development experience.
• Master’s degree in Chemistry above or equivalent coating research / development experience.
• Strong at project management skill. Ability to solve complex problems through DOE and statistical analysis.
• Defines experiments & supports approach design, generates new technology and ideas.
• Discusses technical output with management/business and minor external presentations.
• Leads advanced chemical and/or chemical engineering related experiments, complex technical operations, or information search/analysis project.
• Good computer skills including office, database, and statistics.
• Good verbal and written of English language.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration capability. Drives critical tasks and engages leadership in achieving organizational objectives.
