About the Role:
ProspectBlue’s litigation support client is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as a Jury Focus Group Moderator for virtual jury research sessions conducted via Zoom.
This opportunity is well suited for a retired trial lawyer or attorney with meaningful litigation experience who enjoys flexible, part-time work and would like to apply their courtroom experience and understanding of juror perspectives in a research setting.
No prior focus group moderation experience is required. ProspectBlue’s client will provide training on its specific methodology, moderation approach, and session format.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review assigned case summaries in advance of each focus group to become familiar with the relevant facts, issues, and research objectives.
- Moderate juror deliberation rooms during live, Zoom-based mock jury focus groups, facilitating thoughtful discussion and helping surface participants’ genuine reasoning and reactions.
- Foster a professional, respectful environment and ensure all participants have an opportunity to contribute.
- Review and refine case summaries prepared by ProspectBlue’s client, approximately 2–5 per month, helping ensure the materials are clear, accurate, balanced, and appropriate for research purposes.

- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, private setting suitable for hosting and moderating video calls during evening hours.
- Comfort using Zoom, including breakout and deliberation room functionality.
- Availability for evening sessions, generally 6:00 PM–10:00 PM EST, on an as-scheduled basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Retired trial lawyer with first-chair or significant courtroom trial experience.
- Familiarity with jury research, mock trials, focus groups, or related research methodologies.
- Candidates located in Texas, California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Florida, or Pennsylvania are of particular interest, with Texas and Florida currently representing priority markets .

This position does not include employee benefits. Independent contractors are responsible for their own tax obligations, equipment, and work-related expenses.
Compensation:
- $1,000 flat fee per focus group moderated.
- $200 per hour for case summary review and refinement work.
