Senior D365 Finance Functional Consultant - Job Description Summary Role Overview

Seeking an experienced D365 Finance Functional Consultant (5-8 years) with strong expertise in General Ledger (GL), Budgeting, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) to lead end-to-end Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations. The consultant will work closely with finance stakeholders, drive solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, training, and go-live support.

Key Responsibilities 1. Solution Design & Implementation

• Conduct business requirement gathering workshops.
• Perform Fit-Gap Analysis and recommend D365 Finance solutions.
• Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDDs).
• Configure D365 Finance modules based on business requirements.
• Collaborate with technical teams for customizations and integrations.

2. Finance Domain Expertise General Ledger (GL)

• Chart of Accounts configuration.
• Financial Dimensions and Account Structures.
• Ledger setup and journal processing.
• Month-end and Year-end closing.
• Financial reporting and compliance.

Budgeting

• Budget planning and budget control.
• Budget register entries.
• Budget allocation and forecasting processes.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Customer posting profiles.
• Billing and invoicing processes.
• Credit and collections management.
• Customer payments and settlements.

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Vendor posting profiles.
• Vendor invoice processing.
• Invoice matching and approval workflows.
• Vendor payments and settlements.

3. Testing & Deployment

• Define test strategies and test cases.
• Lead SIT and UAT activities.
• Support issue resolution and defect tracking.
• Provide go-live and hypercare support.

4. Data Migration

• Define migration strategy for:
  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Chart of Accounts
  • Financial Dimensions
  • Open AR/AP balances
  • Budgets
• Utilize D365 Data Management Framework (DMF/DIXF).

5. Training & Change Management

• Conduct end-user training.
• Create user guides and process documentation.
• Assist business teams during adoption.
