Mohs Histotech

Dynamic and thriving dermatology practice in River North neighborhood of Chicago is seeking a Mohs histotechnician.
This position is currently part time, working as Mohs histotech on Tuesdays.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
 Knowledge and understanding of technical aspects in areas of histology, laboratory techniques and quality control
 Embed, cut, stain and mount frozen tissue specimens at the highest level of quality in an efficient manner, following established policies, procedures and laboratory standards
 Document and catalog specimens
 Maintains histology lab, equipment and supplies and ensures lab is operating in accordance with CLIA and other regulatory agencies
 Assist Mohs surgeon as needed
 Other possible duties: Autoclave, maintain/order surgical supplies
Personal attributes:
 Strong interpersonal skills
 Ability to work in a fast paced environment
 Strong organizational and computer skills- knowledge of HER systems preferred
 Detail oriented
 Willingness to learn and grow with the practice
Job requirements:
 Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification
 Clinical education in an accredited histotechnician program or an associate degree and training at a hospital
 A minimum of 2 years actively employed in a Mohs lab preferred, but recent Histology graduates welcome to apply and will be considered.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Expected hours: 6.0 – 8.0 per week
