Mold Engineer

About the role

The functionary is responsible to take care of the communication between suppliers, mold center Belgium and the production facility in Thailand, the functionary will also be responsible to manage the projects for new molds, replacement molds with the Asian suppliers together with mold center in Belgium.

Key responsibilities

• Search for local mold makers
• Be the middle person between mold center, production and suppliers
• Follow up of the progress when working with Asian mold makers by visiting and communicating with the suppliers
• Managing the mold files
• Manage test runs of new molds and projects with the Production Manager or Production Planning Department and the Process Engineer of the relevant department
• Manage and carry out mold acceptance with suppliers
• Agree on the quality with Quality Department and Product Engineering for new products after the test run with new molds
• Communicate changes in drawings and molds
• Propose new mold equipment that can be used globally

About you

• Tool and Die Engineering Diploma and above
• Experience in production within the plastic industry
• Experience in mold manufacturing for Injection Molding and Thermoforming
• Mold constructions and mold manufacturing, reading and understanding 2D and 3D drawings
• AutoCAD knowledge and experience
• Good written and reading knowledge of English and technical English language
• Willing to travel (10% of time)
• Willing to work 6 days/week (Monday - Saturday)
