Mold Modification Technician

Overview

A Mold Shop Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient production operations by performing test sample preparation, mold cleaning, assembly, and maintenance support within the mold shop. Working in close collaboration with the mold manager, this position is responsible for supporting shop-floor operations and managing production data.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Test Sample Preparation & Mold Support

• Sample Preparation: Fabricating and preparing test samples (test pieces) for quality inspection and analysis.
• Mold Cleaning & Maintenance: Cleaning, washing, and removing foreign substances and residues from molds before and after storage or operation.
• Mold Assembly & Disassembly: Assisting in the disassembly, assembly, and maintenance of molds required for production processes.

2. Production & Equipment Maintenance Support

• Material & Tool Management: Managing consumables, parts, and equipment materials needed for mold cleaning and assembly.
• Preventive Maintenance (PM) Assistance: Assisting in routine inspections and regular maintenance of molds and surrounding equipment to prevent breakdowns and maintain quality.

3. Quality Control & Process Improvement

• Quality Inspection: Checking test samples and mold conditions to ensure compliance with precision and quality standards.
• Process Improvement: Identifying bottlenecks and hazard factors in the mold cleaning/assembly process to enhance operational efficiency.

4. Health & Safety

• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhering to safety rules when handling heavy objects and performing mold assembly/cleaning.
• Workplace Environment: Implementing 5S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) within the mold shop to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or higher, Experience in mold fabrication and mold-related operations is preferred.
• Language Requirements: English (Required), Korean (Preferred).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects up to 40 lbs (approx. 18 kg) as required by operational needs.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
