Molding Engineer

About the role

Pricon Microelectronics Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Molding Engineer to join our Process Engineering team on a full-time basis at our facility in Cabuyao City, Laguna. This role is critical to ensuring the quality and efficiency of our microelectronic component manufacturing processes. As a Molding Engineer, you will play a vital role in optimizing our plastic molding operations, troubleshooting technical challenges, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact our product quality and production efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgement in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of machine maintenance techniques, procedures and criteria
• Devise new approaches to machine problems and monitor die-set compliance to standard specification of products.
• Troubleshoot molding equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve technical problems
• Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization
• Perform quality control inspections and implement corrective actions to ensure products meet customer specifications
• Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions and standard operating procedures
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to ensure workplace safety and equipment reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance and supply chain to support manufacturing goals

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in process engineering or molding operations within the electronics manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding processes, equipment and materials
• Proficiency in process optimization techniques and statistical analysis methods such as DOE (Design of Experiments)
• Experience with quality management systems and familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent standards
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in using engineering software and CAD tools
