Candidates may be considered for one or multiple classes based on technical expertise, teaching experience, and availability.

Our season runs September through June. Please apply only for class times you can reliably maintain each Monday throughout the season.

Empower by Bella Ballet is seeking technically strong, confident, and inspiring dance educators who can provide meaningful training to our pre-teen and teen dancers.

We are looking for more than someone who can demonstrate combinations or teach choreography.

Our Monday faculty must be able to walk into the studio, confidently lead the room, recognize what individual dancers need, provide specific and actionable corrections, and teach progressive technique while creating an environment where dancers feel challenged, supported, and motivated to grow.

Great dancing matters here. Great teaching matters even more.

Who We’re Looking For

For these specific Monday openings, we are recruiting educators with strong backgrounds in:

Contemporary • Traditional Ballet • Jazz • Leaps & Turns / Technique

We are specifically interested in finding the right educator for this opening.

Strong candidates demonstrate:

  • Strong technical training in the style(s) they are applying to teach
  • Experience teaching pre-teen and/or teen dancers
  • Confident and positive classroom management
  • Ability to teach progressive technique—not simply combinations
  • Strong musicality and attention to detail
  • Ability to identify technical needs and provide clear corrections
  • Ability to challenge advanced dancers while supporting developing students
  • A polished, engaging, and professional teaching presence
  • Reliability and consistency
  • Strong communication and collaboration
  • Willingness to receive feedback and continue developing as an educator

Formal degrees in dance are welcomed but not required. Professional, collegiate, competitive, conservatory, studio, and other substantial dance backgrounds will be considered.

What Teaching at Empower Looks Like

Our faculty create classes that are structured, intentional, technically sound, and engaging.

Depending on your assigned class and role, responsibilities may include:

  • Teaching progressive, age-appropriate technique
  • Developing strength, flexibility, musicality, artistry, and performance quality
  • Creating purposeful exercises within our curriculum framework
  • Providing individual and group corrections
  • Adapting instruction for different technical levels and learning styles
  • Establishing clear expectations and confidently managing the classroom
  • Choreographing age-appropriate recital and performance pieces
  • Preparing dancers for performances throughout the season
  • Collaborating with faculty and studio leadership
  • Participating in paid training and faculty development
  • Communicating consistently and professionally

More Than Technique

Empower was created to give pre-teen and teen dancers a place where serious dance education and personal empowerment exist together.

We believe dancers should be challenged. Strong technique requires discipline, repetition, accountability, hard work, and meaningful corrections—but none of those things require sacrificing a dancer's confidence or individuality.

Our faculty intentionally reinforce confidence, leadership, resilience, kindness, inclusivity, positive body image, and respect while developing dancers technically and artistically.

We want our students to leave class knowing what they need to improve and believing they are capable of improving it.

Compensation & Faculty Support

$25–$45/hour based on position, experience, technical background, and teaching responsibilities.

  • Co-Lead Teachers: typically $25–$30/hour
  • Lead Teachers: typically $35–$45/hour
  • Paid training
  • Curriculum and educational resources
  • Faculty mentorship and development
  • Administrative support
  • Opportunities for additional teaching and leadership responsibilities

Before You Apply

We aren't looking for someone who simply has Monday evenings open.

We are looking for an educator who can take ownership of their assigned class, build relationships with their dancers, consistently develop technique throughout the season, and become a reliable part of our faculty.

If you believe dancers can receive excellent technical training in an environment that builds rather than breaks confidence, we want to hear from you.
