Monitoring Intelligence Centre Operator

Join Matrix Security Group as a Monitoring Intelligence Centre Operator and become part of the team at the heart of our 24/7 security operation.

You’ll use technology, information and your own judgement to assess security events, support customers and coordinate the right response. This could include dispatching security teams, reviewing video events or escalating incidents to emergency services.

This is more than traditional alarm monitoring. You’ll work with evolving security technology, including video verification, remote monitoring and AI-assisted tools, while playing a real part in helping keep people and property safe.

What you’ll be doing

• Monitoring and assessing alarm, video and other security events in real time.
• Making sound decisions about what action is required.
• Communicating with customers and providing calm, professional support.
• Coordinating security patrols and emergency responses.
• Conducting welfare and safety checks for security team members in the field.
• Managing multiple systems and live events while maintaining accurate records.
• Working closely with your team to keep our 24/7 operation running effectively.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, strong work ethic and good judgement.

You’ll need:

• Excellent spoken English and a professional telephone manner.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine customer-service focus.
• Confidence using information systems and technology.
• The ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A reliable, professional and team-focused approach.

Experience in customer service, contact centres, monitoring, dispatch, security operations or a similar environment would be an advantage.

The roster

This is a full-time permanent position working a 4-on, 4-off roster – four rostered days on followed by four days off.

As this is a rotating roster, your working days will include weekends and public holidays when they fall within your roster.

Specific hours will be confirmed during the recruitment process.

Reliability, punctuality and commitment to your rostered shifts are essential.
