Mortgage Forward Deployed Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Mortgage Forward Deployed Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role serves as a highly technical, customer-facing partner for mortgage clients, helping translate business needs into practical solutions that improve implementation speed and client outcomes.

You will work closely with post-sales teams, product stakeholders, and client executives to design, validate, and support integrations that deliver measurable value in complex lending environments.

The position blends software engineering, solution consulting, and trusted-advisor responsibilities, with a strong focus on APIs, troubleshooting, proof-of-concepts, and roadmap influence.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical expert and trusted advisor during post-sales processes
• Review and consult on technical solutions, APIs, and integrations
• Build and support technical solutions for mortgage clients using the company's platform and Encompass
• Run proof-of-concepts to demonstrate ROI quickly
• Troubleshoot technical issues in live environments
• Collaborate with Account Management and Product teams to deliver value and influence the roadmap
• Travel occasionally (approximately 30%–50%) to customer sites and industry events

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software engineering, solutions engineering, or technical consulting
• 3+ years in mortgage or lending workflows
• Strong understanding of Encompass
• Consultative sales or account management skills to align technology with business needs
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging senior executives
• Proficient in backend technologies: Python, APIs, SQL
• Familiarity with frontend technologies: React/TypeScript, JavaScript
