We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive vehicle safety inspections, ensuring vehicles meet legal standards and safety requirements. Your expertise will help maintain high-quality service standards and ensure customer satisfaction by delivering accurate and efficient testing. Responsibilities

• Perform thorough MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles, including brakes, lights, suspension, exhaust systems, and other essential components.
• Use specialized hand tools and power tools to inspect and diagnose vehicle issues accurately.
• Ensure all testing procedures comply with current legal and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of each vehicle inspection, including test results and any necessary repairs or recommendations.
• Communicate clearly with customers about test outcomes and explain any required repairs or safety concerns.
• Assist in vehicle preparation for testing, including basic maintenance checks and minor repairs if qualified.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during all testing procedures, including heavy lifting when handling vehicle components or equipment.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or inspection roles.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of vehicle inspections or repairs.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate testing and record keeping.
• Good communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers.
• Prior experience working as an MOT tester or in a similar automotive role is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for the right candidate.
• A valid MOT testing license or certification is highly desirable.
