Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, including brakes, lights, suspension, exhaust emissions, and other critical components.
• Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs or adjustments as needed to pass MOT requirements.
• Identify issues that may prevent a vehicle from passing the test and communicate necessary repairs clearly to customers or colleagues.
• Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks, including repairs,services and diagnostics when required.
• Maintain accurate records of all tests performed, including test results and any repairs carried out.
• Handle heavy lifting of vehicles or parts safely, following proper procedures to prevent injury.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or servicing.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in vehicle maintenance and testing.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily duties.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining test results and repair needs effectively.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology or testing are preferred but not mandatory.
