MOT Tester/Technician

The Role
Bicester MOT & Service Centre Ltd is looking for an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join our growing independent garage in Bicester.

We're looking for a qualified MOT Tester who takes pride in their work, has a thorough and professional approach to MOT testing and works well as part of a team.

The role will primarily involve carrying out Class 4/7 MOT tests, alongside vehicle inspections, servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs when required.

This is a full-time, permanent position with no weekend working.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm

What You'll Be Doing

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Carrying out Class 4/7 MOT tests accurately and efficiently in accordance with DVSA standards
• Ensuring all MOT testing procedures and DVSA requirements are followed correctly
• Accurately recording and reporting MOT defects and advisory items
• Carrying out vehicle health checks and inspections
• Identifying and clearly reporting additional work required
• Completing vehicle servicing and routine maintenance
• Carrying out general mechanical repairs including brakes, steering and suspension
• Using digital job cards and workshop systems
• Maintaining a clean, organised and professional MOT testing area
• Ensuring all work is completed efficiently while maintaining a high standard
• Supporting other technicians within the workshop when required

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you'll have:

• Current MOT Testing Licence – Class 4/7
• Previous experience working as an MOT Tester and/or Vehicle Technician
• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent preferred
• Good knowledge of current MOT testing standards and DVSA requirements
• Experience carrying out general servicing and mechanical repairs
• Diagnostic experience beneficial but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
• A professional and thorough approach to vehicle testing
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to accurately identify and report vehicle defects
• Pride in producing high-quality work
• A positive attitude and willingness to develop your skills
