MOTION & 3D VISUAL DESIGNER

Who We’re Looking For: We’re looking for a highly creative Motion & Visual Designer who is exceptional at motion design and 2D/3D illustration.

You’ll be responsible for bringing ideas, stories and campaigns to life through engaging motion graphics, 2D/3D illustrations, animations and strong visual design across Motherland’s brands, products, campaigns and experiences.

You should have a strong eye for aesthetics, composition, typography and visual storytelling, with the technical ability to create everything from high-quality engaging motion graphics to static brand asset, animations, illustrations and video content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create high-quality motion graphics, animations and visual effects for digital campaigns, social media, products, events and brand communications.
• Develop compelling 2D and 3D illustrations, characters, environments and visual assets.
• Turn concepts and creative briefs into strong visual stories across motion, illustration and still design.
• Develop storyboards, visual concepts and creative treatments for motion projects.
• Create static designs for campaigns, social media, presentations, digital ads and other brand materials.
• Develop visual assets that can work seamlessly across 2D, 3D, motion and static formats.
• Collaborate with the creative, marketing, product and other teams to develop and execute campaigns.
• Experiment with new creative techniques, technologies and AI tools to push the quality and possibilities of our visual content.
• Maintain a high standard of visual consistency across Motherland’s brands and touchpoints.

REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years of experience in motion design, visual design, illustration or a related creative field.
• Exceptional motion design and animation skills.
• Strong 2D illustration skills, with the ability to create original visual styles, characters and compositions.
• Strong 3D illustration/design skills and an understanding of 3D workflows.
• Excellent understanding of composition, typography, colour, visual storytelling and design principles.
• Proficiency in relevant tools such as After Effects, Blender/Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma and Premiere Pro, or equivalent tools.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality motion, 2D and 3D work.
• Ability to take an idea from concept to final execution with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and a high bar for creative quality.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience with AI-assisted creative tools is an advantage.
• Proximity to the VI/Lagos Island axis is highly desirable

Important Note

We’re not looking for someone who simply knows how to animate graphics. We want a strong visual storyteller and maker who can illustrate, design and animate at a high level.

Your portfolio is the most important part of your application. It should clearly demonstrate your best motion, 2D illustration and 3D work, rather than primarily static graphic design.
