Role Description The Motion Control Engineer will work on-site in Orlando, FL in a full-time capacity, supporting the design, development, and optimization of motion control systems integrated into laser processing equipment. This role involves configuring motion controllers, drives, and actuators, tuning servo and stepper systems, and ensuring precise positioning and repeatability for automated processes. The engineer will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate robotics and motion subsystems, develop control algorithms, and validate system performance through testing and data analysis. Daily tasks include diagnosing and resolving motion-related issues, improving process stability and throughput, documenting configurations and procedures, and supporting production and field service teams with technical guidance. The Motion Control Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, evaluate new technologies, and help ensure that systems meet safety, reliability, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Motion Control and Robotics skills, including experience with servo and stepper systems, motion controllers, and automated machinery.
• Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering skills, such as designing and interpreting schematics, working with industrial controls, and integrating drives, sensors, and actuators.
• Candidates should possess Process Control skills, including developing and tuning control loops, optimizing system performance, and applying industrial automation principles.
• Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with PLCs, embedded controllers, or industrial control software, and familiarity with safety standards relevant to automated and laser systems.
• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing and lab environment, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in industrial automation, laser systems, robotics integration, or related motion-intensive applications is beneficial.
