Your Story

We're hiring a Motion Designer to bring movement, clarity, and energy to Story's films, client work, and original series. You'll design and animate across a range of styles, working closely with directors, editors, and VFX artists to make motion feel like part of the story. You'll have room to bring your own ideas while taking work from the initial brief through final delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Design and animate motion graphics across documentary, brand, client, and original content.
• Develop work from director and producer briefs, contributing your own visual ideas.
• Collaborate with editors and VFX artists to integrate motion into the finished piece.
• Iterate on feedback and deliver polished work under tight deadlines.
• Maintain organized project files and manage your delivery workflow.
• Join client conversations alongside producers when needed.

Requirements:

• Strong portfolio demonstrating motion design across multiple styles.
• Proficiency in After Effects.
• Ability to complete a paid test project.
• Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.
• Degrees not required. Your work speaks for itself.

Bonus:

• Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, compositing, or VFX.
• A strong design eye that carries through every frame.
• Speed and flexibility when exploring different creative directions.
• Confidence offering an alternative when an idea could be stronger.
• Curiosity about expanding your skills across motion and post-production.
