Motor Vehicle Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Duties

• Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify faults or potential issues using knowledge and diagnostic tools
• Able to carry out repairs, servicing, suspension and brakes
• Experience in repairing timing belts and wet belts
• Perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical systems, including engines, gearboxes and clutches
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge.
• Replace worn or damaged parts with appropriate components, ensuring safety standards are met.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs undertaken, and parts used.
• Collaborate with other team members to coordinate repair schedules and minimise downtime.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and organisational policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role within an industrial or automotive environment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams effectively.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools safely and efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Vehicle Mechanical Engineering are desirable.
• A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate movement between sites if necessary. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to apply their mechanical expertise in a challenging yet rewarding setting.

Pay: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
