Mould design Engineer

Job Purpose (Significance of the role & Objectives) As a Junior Mould Design Engineer, your role involves crafting moulds essential for the manufacturing process. You will collaborate with diverse materials to produce a wide range of products. Key Responsibilities and Deliverable. - Work closely with product design and manufacturing team to understand and capture product specifications. - Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed and accurate mold designs. - Choose suitable materials for molds based on molding process, material properties, and production volume. - Develop prototypes and conduct tests to ensure molds meet design specifications. - Assist in product/tool development and moulding process. - Evaluate cost implications of different design options, considering material costs and production efficiency. - Ensure mold designs meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations. - Create and maintain detailed documentation of mold designs, including drawings and specifications. - Stay updated on industry advancements, implement improvements, and optimize existing molds. Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Skill sets, and Experience - Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. - 1 to 3 years of proven experience in mold design and manufacturing processes - Mould designing experience in NX and Solid works. - Should be familiar with GD&T. - Strong understanding of materials and their suitability for molding application. - Skilled in creating 3D models for parting surfaces and extracting core cavity. - Proficient in reconstructing A surfaces in accordance with the part file.
