Mover/Packer

Job Summary

Duties

• Safely load and unload furniture, boxes, and other household or office items using proper lifting techniques and equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary
• Assist customers with packing, wrapping, and securing belongings to prevent damage during transit
• Operate various types of vehicles including box trucks and cargo vans with manual transmissions for route driving and deliveries
• Drive courteously and responsibly as a professional courier or delivery driver, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Coordinate with team members to plan efficient routes for timely pickups and deliveries
• Use manual handling equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts to move heavy or bulky items within warehouses or loading docks
• Load items onto trucks in an organized manner to optimize space and ensure safe transportation
• Unload items at the destination, carefully placing them in designated areas while maintaining customer satisfaction through friendly service
• Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and inventory movements for record-keeping purposes
• Communicate effectively with customers to confirm delivery details and address any special handling instructions

Experience

• Prior experience in moving services or warehouse environments is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability in customer service roles, providing friendly and professional interactions with clients
• Proven experience operating commercial vehicles such as box trucks or similar cargo vehicles with manual transmissions
• Familiarity with driving routes and delivery procedures as a courier or delivery driver
• Hands-on experience with heavy lifting, loading/unloading procedures, and the use of equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to moving operations and vehicle operation
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks consistently while maintaining attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license suitable for commercial driving; CDL license is a plus but not mandatory
