MPLS-TP Network Engineer

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Sydney or Melbourne, Australia

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-level and low-level network designs, topology diagrams, service mappings and interface specifications.
• Design QoS, OAM, protection switching, synchronization, alarms and network management integration.
• Design VMR transport for V.28 and 4W E&M interfaces, including geo-redundant FOXMAN/UNEM NMS requirements.
• Prepare lab designs, bills of materials, rack layouts, cable schedules, configurations and technical documentation.
• Validate VMR audio, signaling, voter operation, automatic changeover, alarms, recovery and latency.
• Plan and execute FAT, FIT, SAT and SIT activities; document results and resolve issues.
• Support network configuration, service provisioning, end-to-end testing and cutover.
• Participate in design, requirements, interface and HAZOP workshops, and close review actions.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience designing and delivering MPLS-TP networks, including HLDs and LLDs.
• Experience with Hitachi MPLS-TP equipment and FOXMAN/UNEM NMS.
• Strong knowledge of QoS, OAM, protection switching, synchronization and service provisioning.
• Experience integrating legacy voice or radio interfaces, particularly VMR, V.28 or 4W E&M.
• Experience in network testing, commissioning, acceptance testing and cutover.
• Strong technical documentation, troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
