The Role

As anexperiencedMPU Operator, you’ll be hands on with our mobile mixing units by safely loading, transporting and pumping to deliver precise blasting outcomes. You’ll report to the Shift Supervisor and work closely with the rest of the crew to keep operations on track using advanced equipment in a safety-first environment.

What You’ll Do

• Operating MPU trucks safely to manufacture and deliver bulk explosives to blast holes
• Track and maintain accurate records and proactively report any issues to the Shift Supervisor
• Carry out pre-start checks and support preventative maintenance on equipment
• Following all safety, environmental, and compliance requirements
• Support the wider team to achieve daily targets

What You’ll Need

Must-haves:

• Right to work in Australia without restriction
• Previous experience operating MPU/MMU or similar equipment in an open cut mining environment and experienced enough to operate autonomously
• Statement of Attainment for MPU Operating i.e. RIIBLA203E – Conduct Mobile Mixing of Explosives and RIIBLA201E – Support Shotfiring Operations
• Heavy Rigid (or greater) drivers’ licence
• Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
• QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
• Able to pass pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol and background checks

Nice to Have:

• Relevant RII i.e. RIIVEH307F - Heavy Rigid Vehicle, RIIMPO208F – Operate Support Equipment and RIIBLA205E – Store Handle & Transport Explosives
• Have operated on a BMA site
