Full-time and part-time options are available for the right candidate.

This diverse role offers the best of both worlds, combining MRI and general radiography within a supportive team committed to delivering outstanding patient care and high-quality imaging services.

Located in one of New Zealand's most sought-after regions, Central Otago offers an enviable lifestyle, breathtaking scenery, and endless outdoor pursuits, making this an exceptional career and lifestyle opportunity.
In your MRI scope, you will also be:

  • Completing MRI analysis in accordance with established standards
  • Carrying out and documenting Quality Control procedures and reporting any quality issues to the Charge MRI Technologist
  • Taking all safety precautions necessary to ensure the safety of yourself, the patient, and all other staff members
  • Notifying the Charge MRI Technologist of any equipment breakages, breakdowns, or malfunctions

In your MRT scope, a day in the life could look like:

  • Producing diagnostic images of high quality, in line with published imaging protocols
  • Delivering patient care in line with patient rights legislation, seeking and gaining informed consent for all procedures
  • Using equipment in a safe and professional manner and complying with equipment maintenance and QA processes
  • Accurately recording procedural information in the Radiology Information System
  • Participating fully in the modality roster system
  • Performing X-rays, mobile imaging, and working in a theatre environment.

Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you
We are looking for a qualified MRT who also holds an MRI scope of practice, bringing experience and confidence across both modalities. You will also bring:

  • Current radiography registration (APC) with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board
  • MRI scope of practice with the NZ MRTB, or a valid exemption
  • Sound knowledge of Medical Radiation Technology techniques and practices, alongside advanced knowledge of MRI Safety Guidelines and Procedures
  • Proven excellence in delivering patient care, with a strong patient focus and high attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and competent interpersonal skills
  • A motivated approach to quality healthcare and a passion for ongoing professional development
  • The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Knowledge of the operation of RIS and PACS systems
  • Compliance with the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA) and MRTB code of ethics
