What they need
Overview
At PEAK, we're passionate about helping people move better, recover from injury and improve their long-term health and wellbeing.
We are an independent, multidisciplinary injury rehabilitation and wellbeing clinic based in Worle, Weston-super-Mare. Our growing team brings together professionals across physiotherapy, sports therapy, osteopathy and rehabilitation, providing patients with a joined-up, personalised approach to their care.
As we continue to expand our services, we're looking for a skilled, motivated and enthusiastic Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatrist to join Team PEAK.
This is a self-employed associate opportunity, offering the flexibility to build and develop your own patient caseload within an established multidisciplinary clinic, with access to PEAK's facilities, administrative support and internal referral opportunities.
We are particularly interested in a clinician with a passion for biomechanics, gait analysis, sports injuries and lower limb rehabilitation.
You'll have the opportunity to develop your own specialist service while working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals in a modern, supportive clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive assessments, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal foot, ankle and lower limb conditions.
- Perform biomechanical assessments, gait analysis and functional movement assessments to identify contributing factors to pain and injury.
- Assess and manage conditions including plantar heel pain, Achilles tendinopathy, posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, metatarsalgia and other lower limb overuse injuries.
- Develop personalised, evidence-informed treatment and rehabilitation programmes tailored to individual patient needs and goals.
- Provide advice and interventions relating to footwear, orthotic therapy, load management and injury prevention.
- Support patients returning to sport, exercise, work and everyday activities following injury.
- Work collaboratively with our physiotherapy, sports therapy, osteopathy and rehabilitation clinicians to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients on injury prevention, foot health, rehabilitation and long-term management strategies.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the development and growth of MSK podiatry services within PEAK.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- BSc or MSc qualification in Podiatry, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience assessing and managing musculoskeletal foot, ankle and lower limb conditions.
- Strong understanding of lower limb anatomy, biomechanics and musculoskeletal pathology.
- Ability to work independently, manage a patient caseload and make appropriate clinical decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to evidence-informed, patient-centred care.
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
Desirable
- Additional postgraduate training or experience in MSK podiatry, biomechanics or sports injuries.
- Experience in gait analysis, running assessments and functional movement screening.
- Knowledge and experience of orthotic prescription and rehabilitation-based interventions.
- Experience working within private practice or a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Interest in sports performance, injury prevention and return-to-sport rehabilitation.
- Experience in clinical education, mentoring or service development.
What We Offer Our Clinicians
At PEAK, we believe that successful clinical partnerships are built on collaboration, professional independence and shared standards of patient care.
We want our associate clinicians to feel part of Team PEAK while maintaining the flexibility and autonomy of self-employment.
We offer:
- Modern Clinical Environment: Access to professional treatment rooms within our established injury rehabilitation and wellbeing clinic.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Opportunities to work alongside physiotherapists, sports therapists, osteopaths and other healthcare professionals.
- Patient Referrals: Opportunities to receive internal referrals from our existing clinical team and growing patient community.
- Administrative Support: Access to clinic booking systems and administrative support to help manage appointments and patient enquiries.
- Flexible Working: Self-employed arrangements with working days and hours agreed around clinic availability and patient demand.
- Professional Autonomy: The opportunity to develop your own clinical caseload, treatment approach and specialist interests within your professional scope of practice.
- Clinical Facilities: Opportunities to integrate rehabilitation and exercise-based interventions using PEAK's available facilities.
- Professional Development: A collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing, clinical discussion and ongoing development.
- Community Engagement: Opportunities to participate in local sporting events, community partnerships and health promotion initiatives.
- Growth Opportunities: The chance to help shape and expand our MSK podiatry offering as PEAK continues to develop.
Self-Employed Opportunity
This position is offered on a self-employed associate basis rather than as a salaried employment role.
The successful clinician will have the opportunity to establish and grow their own caseload while benefiting from the facilities, professional environment and collaborative opportunities available at PEAK.
Commercial arrangements, including room usage or revenue-sharing options, will be discussed with suitable applicants.
We are open to conversations with established MSK Podiatrists looking to relocate or expand their practice, as well as clinicians seeking to develop their private practice within a supportive multidisciplinary setting.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for more than someone who simply wants to use a treatment room.
We want a clinician who shares our commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, building positive professional relationships and helping people achieve meaningful improvements in their health, movement and quality of life.
You'll be approachable, proactive and confident in your clinical abilities, with a genuine interest in becoming part of a collaborative healthcare team.
You'll understand the importance of providing an excellent patient experience and maintaining the professional standards associated with the PEAK brand.
Whether you're an experienced MSK Podiatrist looking for a fresh opportunity or an established practitioner wanting to expand your private practice, we'd love to hear from you.
Join Team PEAK
PEAK is continuing to grow, and we're looking for like-minded healthcare professionals who want to be part of our journey.
If you're passionate about musculoskeletal podiatry, biomechanics, rehabilitation and helping people return to the activities they love, we'd welcome an informal conversation.
