Key Responsibilities:

• Get Certified: Gain or maintain a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC) through supported training and regular upskilling.
• Safety First: Monitor pool areas vigilantly to ensure a safe environment for all users.
• Rule Enforcement: Enforce pool rules professionally and consistently to prevent incidents.
• Be Ready: Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including performing rescues and first aid.
• Customer Service: Interact positively with a diverse range of customers, using a friendly and educational approach to increase awareness and encourage safe behaviour.

What We're Looking For:

• Certification: Hold or be willing to obtain a PLPC (with full training and support provided).
• Swimming Skills:
  • Swim 200m in under 6 minutes
  • Tread water for 5 minutes
  • Retrieve an object from 4.6m depth
  • (All applicants must pass this swim test during recruitment.)
• Commitment: Be available for training and regular monthly skills maintenance.
• Police Vetting: Must pass and maintain a satisfactory check under the Children's Act.
• Reliable Transport: Punctuality is critical. Public transport may not align with training or shift start times, so reliable transport is essential.

Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC) Training

This qualification involves approximately 40+ hours of paid training for candidates aged 16 and over, including:

In-Water Training

• Rescue techniques and swim fitness
• Practical & theoretical assessments

Non-Water Training

• First Aid (1 day)
• Facility Induction (2 hrs)
• Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Response Procedures (2 hrs)
• Child Protection Training (2 hrs)
• Shadowing Qualified Lifeguards (20 hrs)

Training Block for PLPC):

• 02 November 2026 - 20 November 2026.

Sessions may be scheduled early mornings or during the day depending on pool availability. You must have flexible availability for the training block.
