Multi-Drop Van Driver – Self-Employed

Excel Transport Ltd is currently seeking an experienced, reliable and professional Self-Employed Multi-Drop Van Driver to join our team.

This position is based from our Basildon operation, with the successful driver covering a set multi-drop route in East London.

The role involves completing approximately 50 deliveries per day, plus collections, delivering a variety of goods to customers.

Responsibilities

● Complete a set multi-drop delivery route in East London

● Complete approximately 50 deliveries per day plus collections

● Check loads before departure and ensure goods are loaded correctly

● Secure loads safely during transport

● Obtain accurate Proof of Delivery (POD)

● Keep to planned delivery ETAs wherever possible

● Complete collections as required

● Maintain and look after the vehicle

● Communicate with customers and the transport team

● Safely handle and deliver large or heavy boxes and furniture

● Manage routes effectively around traffic congestion and changing road conditions

● Remain aware of weather and road conditions

● Follow all driver safety procedures

Requirements

● Minimum 2 years’ multi-drop driving experience

● Minimum 1 year delivery driver experience

● Full UK driving licence

● Experience driving vans up to 3.5 tonnes

● Confident using navigation systems and route-planning apps

● Physically capable of lifting and handling large or heavy items

● Good knowledge of driver safety and procedures

● Punctual, reliable and honest

● Mature and professional attitude

● Smart appearance

● Good customer service and communication skills

● Comfortable driving and delivering in East London

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Basildon, Essex for the start of each shift.
