Our B2B trade has been at the heart of the business for many years, and we are also experiencing significant growth in our online home delivery service.

We are now looking for an experienced and reliable Multi-Drop Delivery Driver to join our transport team.

About the role

As a Multi-Drop Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for delivering customer orders accurately, safely and on time.

You will drive a company vehicle and complete multiple deliveries throughout the day. Our customers rely on us to deliver their products on time, so excellent time management, reliability and customer service are essential.

This is an early-start role, Monday to Friday. Start times will vary depending on the delivery schedule and business requirements.

You will report to the Transport Manager and work closely with the wider warehouse, transport and customer service teams.

Key responsibilities

• Complete multi-drop deliveries to customers accurately and on time
• Load and unload the company vehicle safely and efficiently
• Check delivery orders before leaving the site
• Ensure the correct products are delivered to the correct customers
• Provide a professional and friendly service to customers
• Communicate effectively with the Transport Manager and wider business
• Report any delivery issues, delays, shortages or discrepancies promptly
• Keep the company vehicle clean, tidy and in good condition
• Carry out routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues
• Ensure appropriate vehicle and delivery records are maintained
• Follow all company procedures relating to Health & Safety, food handling and vehicle safety
• Represent Tom Hixson of Smithfield professionally at all times
• Support the wider transport operation with other duties as required

About you

We are looking for an experienced delivery driver who is:

• Reliable and punctual
• Hardworking and professional
• Experienced in multi-drop deliveries
• Comfortable working to delivery schedules and deadlines
• Customer-focused with good communication skills
• Able to work independently while also being part of a wider team
• Organised and able to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
• Flexible and willing to support the wider transport operation
• Comfortable handling boxes containing meat and other food products
• Prepared for early morning starts

Previous experience in a similar multi-drop delivery role is essential.

Experience delivering food, meat or other products to businesses would be advantageous but is not essential.

Company vehicle & uniform

A company vehicle and uniform will be provided.

The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the vehicle clean, tidy and well maintained and for reporting any issues promptly.

Working hours

Monday to Friday.

This is an early-start position, with the exact start time varying according to the delivery schedule and operational requirements.

Candidates must be comfortable with early morning starts.
