Multi Skilled Engineer

Dragonfly Foods, producers of plant based food products are looking for a multi skilled engineer at our modern production facility in Willand. The applicant will be responsible for all engineering and maintenance on site, including the largest automated tofu production line in the UK. The site operates 24/5. We are looking for an Engineer who is passionate about problem-solving and has a strong background in both mechanical and electrical engineering.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of working within the food industry but this is not essential.

Duties

• Provide effective reactive, preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Building fabric maintenance and repair.
• Purchase and maintain engineering spare parts.
• Plan and carry out factory projects/improvements.
• Emergency breakdown cover.
• Organise and liaise with external engineers and contractors.
• Keep the PPM schedule up to date for site equipment.
• Upkeep of the site ETP (Effluent treatment plant).
• Steam Boiler up keep and monitoring.

The role will be Monday to Friday with the core hours being 22:00pm to 06:00am. Flexibility will be required as some tasks will need to be carried our around production times. The role will require one Saturday or Sunday shift per month to carry out essential PPM's that cannot be carried out during production days.

The role will report directly to the Operations Director.

Experience:

• Experience of electrical and mechanical fault finding.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Effective problem solving.
• accuracy and good attention to detail.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and be personally responsible.
• Good communication and organisation skills.
• Record keeping and good computer literacy.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with electrical circuit design and analysis.

Useful skills but not essential

• Electrical biased.
• Ability to weld.
• Knowledge of steam boilers.
• Knowledge of Effluent treatment plants.
