Multi Skilled Engineer

Are you a Multi Skilled Engineer with a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance?

Would you like to join a busy FMCG manufacturing site where reliability, problem-solving and keeping production running are key priorities?

MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading FMCG manufacturing business to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineer on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a practical, hands-on role within a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environment, carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance to support site performance, reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

The Role

Working alongside the Engineering and Production teams, you'll play an important part in maintaining equipment performance, responding to breakdowns, delivering planned maintenance and helping identify improvements across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance across site machinery and equipment.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maintain equipment reliability.
• Diagnose faults, respond to breakdowns and carry out effective repairs.
• Conduct routine equipment checks to identify potential issues before they lead to downtime.
• Work with Production to improve equipment performance and minimise disruption.
• Support engineering projects and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Record maintenance work accurately using the site's CMMS.
• Follow all relevant health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the wider Engineering team to support day-to-day site operations.

What We're Looking For

• Apprentice-trained Engineer with a relevant engineering qualification.
• Previous experience in a Multi Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar position.
• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capabilities.
• Background working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Good knowledge of machinery, control systems and PLCs.
• Experience in FMCG, food, beverage or process manufacturing would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems or SAP would be an advantage.
• A practical, proactive approach to troubleshooting and improving equipment performance.
• Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider engineering team.
