As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias), at Chessington World of Adventures, you'll maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems, including PLCs, 3-phase motors, drives, sensors, control panels and automated ride technology. Working in a safety-critical environment, you'll help keep our world-class rides and attractions operating safely, reliably and efficiently while developing specialist skills rarely found in traditional engineering roles.
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and safety-critical inspections across rides, attractions and ride vehicles.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults on electrical control systems, sensors, drives, motors, panels and instrumentation.
- Completing both electrical and mechanical fault finding across complex electro-mechanical equipment.
- Maintaining and repairing ride vehicles, pneumatic systems, mechanical assemblies and attraction infrastructure.
- Participating in ride overhauls, refurbishment projects and system upgrades during closed periods.
- Recording maintenance activities accurately through our maintenance management systems.
- Supporting preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives to maximise ride reliability and availability.
- Following all engineering safety standards, quality procedures and compliance requirements, including HSG175.
- Contributing to excellent workshop standards through 5S and continuous improvement practices.
- Assisting with spare parts management and critical component planning.
What we're looking for
- A recognised engineering qualification in Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with electrical control systems, motors, drives, sensors and industrial equipment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work safely within a safety-critical engineering operation.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, FMCG, automated systems, industrial maintenance, theme parks or similar environments would be advantageous.
- Flexibility to support operational requirements, including some weekend, evening or seasonal working when required.
If you're an electrically biased maintenance engineer looking for a role that offers variety, technical challenge and the chance to work on engineering systems unlike any other, we'd love to hear from you.
