Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

Located in South Rd, Ellesmere Port CH65 4LD

Rotating AM/PM Shift:

· Week 1: Monday to Friday 6.00am – 2.30pm

· Week 2: Monday to Thursday 1.30pm to 10.30pm / Friday 1:30pm – 8pm

The successful candidate will be accountable for all reactive and proactive maintenance work across the site, ensuring to deliver it in a timely manner and to the highest possible standards.

The role will involve the installation, maintenance, improvement and repair of all plant and equipment with a particular focus on electrical systems, controls and fault finding,ensuring production efficiency can be met within a safe well-presented facility. Respond to technical issues affecting production and maintain electrical and mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).

Main Duties:

• Attend breakdowns, identify faults and problem solve, with minimal downtime to production.
• Provide reactive and planned maintenance across plant and production equipment, with a strong focus on electrical maintenance and fault finding.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on production machinery, control panels, motors, sensors and associated equipment.· Assist efficiency improvements by reducing downtime.
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out with due regard to the safety of employees adhering to relevant regulations.
• Provide reactive and planned maintenance.
• Report breakdown causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
• Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.
• Plan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
• Complete Daily Maintenance job sheets and Preventative Maintenance records.
• To help build and maintain a cost-effective spare parts store.

Essential Criteria:

• Must be a qualified, multi-skilled engineer, with previous working experience gained in a Production environment.
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
• A minimum of two years’ post apprenticeship experience.
• Mechanically biased but Electrically competent and a desire to upskill in this area.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems repairs and maintenance
• Knowledge of Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic schematic drawings.
• Must have the ability to work on their own initiative and be a confident decision maker.
• Must be able to work at height
• Must be a flexible individual as some overtime working will be required.
• The ability to work calmly under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision.
