MST Lead 2 – Fabrication & Welding

Job Description

Responsible for leading and coordinating fabrication, welding, repair, and maintenance activities. Provides technical guidance to MST technicians, ensures quality and timely completion of work, and promotes compliance with safety and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and assign daily fabrication, welding, and repair activities.
• Perform and supervise welding, cutting, grinding, fitting, and metal fabrication.
• Read and interpret fabrication and mechanical drawings.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, structures, and metal components.
• Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and PPE.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
• Train and provide technical guidance to team members.

Qualifications

• Technical/Vocational course or degree in Welding, Fabrication, Mechanical Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical maintenance.
• Previous lead or senior technician experience preferred.
• Skilled in cutting, grinding, fitting, and metal fabrication.
• Able to read mechanical/fabrication drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and communication skills.
• Safety-conscious and willing to work overtime or shifting schedules when required.
