Multi-Skilled Tradesperson

Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen to join the Building & Maintenance Team of a well-established and expanding Scotch Whisky Company.

We require a full-time experienced tradesperson with a good understanding of all trades to be involved in and capable of tackling a variety of building and maintenance projects. They will be required to visit the different sites and properties within the company and complete works as instructed by the Estates Manager.

Responsibilities

• Ability to prepare as necessary walls, ceilings, timberwork and paint / decorate to a high standard of finish
• Ability to carry out multilabel trades
• General plaster repairs, dry-lining, taping/filling
• Insulation works, rockwool and thermawall
• Carpentry first and second fix, installation of hinges, locks and door handles, window repairs
• Sealant application
• Good understanding of wall and floor tiling
• Roofing repairs to include slating, gutter and downpipe installation and maintenance, valley cleaning
• Good understanding of erecting scaffolding and aluminium towers
• Basic plumbing and electrical works preferred but not essential.
• Required to carry out labouring tasks, general waste removal and site cleaning works
• Physically fit
• Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
• Attentive to detail
• Good communication and people skills
• Strong time management skills and efficient in planning and organising works
• Contributes to a positive working environment
• Ability to work effectively within a busy Company and team
• Ensuring that all responsibilities are met in accordance with company procedures and the Staff Handbook
• Flexibility to work outside or in excess of standard hours when necessary to achieve schedule completions
• All round tradesperson able to carry out a verity of building and maintenance tasks across multiple property’s
• Carry out work to high standards
• Complete schedule of works issued in agreed timeframe
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Take responsibility for identifying variations in work against the schedule

Essential

• At least 5 years’ experience working as a multi-skilled tradesperson
• Provide full references and provide proof of your right to work in the UK
• Ability to comprehend, sketches, building plans and other specifications
• Full, clean driving licence
• Good knowledge of standard building practices, materials, plant and equipment
• Own vehicle (company vehicle will be provided)
• Professional appearance
