Multi Trade Builder

The job

SwiftBrick Ltd is a small building firm in Swindon — extensions, structural alterations, garage conversions and masonry, almost all residential, almost all from recommendation.

You'd be running a job day to day with a labourer alongside you: setting out from drawings, ordering ahead, keeping the job moving, and doing the work properly — we don't go back twice.

You

• A proper tradesman in one core trade — bricklayer, carpenter, plasterer, groundworker — who can also turn his hand to some others when the job needs it.
• Years on the tools, not months, and work you can show us
• Can run a job from drawings without someone babysitting you
• You can output a fair amount of work each day on your own intuive
• Own van (or car) and your own tools for your core trade — not just basic hand tools
• UTR, full UK driving licence
• Reliable, straight, tidy on site; happy in a customer's home
• no CSCS card required

Not for you if

• You need a lift to work
• You're an improver or a labourer who "can do a bit of everything"
• You've got your own jobs on the go and we'd be the gap-filler
• You can't work from a drawing without ringing me every hour
• You down tools when your own trade's done — the job keeps going and so do you
• You're a no-show or Monday clubber. We've got customers who've paid deposits waiting on us
• You've only done big site work
• You're comfortable leaving a customers home in a mess at the end of the day

What you get

• A steady run of work, not a week here and there
• Paid every Friday, a week in arrears, CIS
• Decent jobs with decent clients
• Run by a builder, not a site manager
• Monday–Friday, 8 till 4:30
