About Us

Oakwood Build & Development is an expanding property development and construction company based in Nottingham. We specialize in comprehensive property conversions and refurbishments, alongside delivering high-standard construction and building projects on behalf of our external clients. As our project pipeline grows, we are looking for a reliable, hard-working multi-trade builder to join our team on a flexible part-time or full-time basis.

Role Overview

We are looking for a versatile, self-motivated tradesperson who can work independently or alongside the business owner and laborers to carry out property renovations end-to-end.

You will not be boxed into a single trade. Instead, you will apply your skills across a diverse array of construction and finishing tasks, splitting your time between our internal development projects (such as HMO property conversions) and our external client works.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

You will be expected to undertake a broad range of building and refurbishment tasks, including but not limited to:

• Strip-outs & Prep: Safely stripping and clearing properties in preparation for refits.
• Structural/Partition Work: Building stud walls and blockwork.
• Drylining & Plastering: Installing PIR-backed boards, standard plasterboard, and executing dot-and-dab or full plaster skim finishes.
• Carpentry & Joinery: First and second-fix joinery, hanging doors, fitting door linings, installing skirting boards, architraves, and general timber work.
• Kitchen Fitting: Complete kitchen installations from unit assembly to worktop templating and fitting.
• M&E Support: Executing light electrical and basic plumbing works as part of general room refits.
• Finishing: High-standard painting and decorating across internal spaces.

Requirements & Skills

• Proven, hands-on experience across multiple construction and finishing trades.
• The ability to work independently, solve problems on-site, and manage your time efficiently.
• A strong, hard-working ethic with high attention to detail.
• A full UK Driving Licence (essential if utilizing company vehicles).
• Ideally equipped with your own hand/power tools (though company provisions can be discussed).
• Flexibility to handle varying project demands across both client-facing jobs and internal developments.

Pay: £15.00-£19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 40.0 per week
