Multi Trade Operative

Job overview

We are looking for experienced Multi-Trade Operatives to complete refurbishment and repair works in empty social-housing properties across Greater London, with possible work in Reading and Oxford.

You will work as part of a fast-moving voids team, completing properties to a safe, clean and lettable standard within agreed turnaround times. Work will include general repairs, carpentry, basic plumbing, kitchen and bathroom repairs, patch plastering, tiling, decorating and making good.

Key responsibilities

• Complete repairs and refurbishment works in void properties.
• Carry out first and second-fix carpentry, including doors, locks, skirting and kitchen units.
• Complete basic plumbing repairs, including taps, wastes, toilets and sanitary fittings.
• Undertake patch plastering, tiling, minor flooring and decorating.
• Identify additional works and report them to the Voids Supervisor before proceeding.
• Record completed work using photographs and job sheets.
• Use materials responsibly and report requirements in advance.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and cleanliness.
• Follow site-specific risk assessments and health and safety procedures.
• Complete snagging and defects promptly.
• Work professionally with supervisors, other trades and client representatives.

Requirements

• Proven multi-trade experience within social-housing voids, repairs or refurbishment.
• Strong primary trade, preferably carpentry, plumbing or plastering.
• Ability to complete work independently and to agreed deadlines.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Own tools appropriate to the role.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide references for similar work.
• Ability to satisfy the DBS clearance and vetting requirements applicable to the client contract.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, productive and capable of delivering high-quality repairs across several trades without constant supervision.

Pay: £25,420.00-£80,039.95 per year
