Multi Trader builder

About the role

Blue Developments is looking for an experienced, hands-on multi-trader / all-round builder to join our team, working on residential extensions, refurbishments, kitchens and bathrooms.

We need somebody who understands the whole building process—from foundations and structural work through to second fix, finishing and painting walls. You should be able to arrive on site, understand the drawings and scope of work, recognise what stage the project is at and know what needs to happen next.

This is a practical building role, not a general handyman position. We are looking for someone who can think ahead, solve problems and get on with the work without needing constant supervision.

What the role involves

You will carry out a broad range of building work, working both independently and alongside our team and specialist trades. You will need to understand the correct order of work, plan ahead for materials and upcoming tasks, and flag any issues before they cause delays or unnecessary rework.

You do not need to be a specialist in every trade, but you must have strong practical skills across several areas and understand how the different trades fit together to deliver a completed project.

What we are looking for

• Proven residential building experience, ideally across extensions and full refurbishments, with an understanding of groundworks, foundations, drainage, structural stages and internal fit-out.
• Strong hands-on trade skills, covering a good range of carpentry, studwork, plasterboarding, kitchen fitting, tiling, making good and decorating. A carpentry background would be an advantage.
• The ability to read drawings, use your initiative and plan ahead, while recognising when to raise a query or involve a specialist.
• Reliability, good communication and pride in your work. You must be comfortable working in clients’ homes, keeping the site tidy and representing the company professionally.
• Your own tools, a full driving licence and reliable transport.

We are looking for someone who wants a long-term working relationship, takes ownership of their work and is interested in taking on more responsibility as the business grows.
