Multi-Trader / Maintenance

Do you come from a trade or maintenance background and fancy a role with more variety, regular Monday-to-Friday hours and work that makes a genuine difference?

We’re looking for a practical and reliable Multi-Trader to join the dedicated Maintenance Team at Prosperity Children’s Services.

From repairs and decorating to maintaining our children’s homes and education settings, you’ll have plenty of variety – no two days will look quite the same.

You’ll be based from our office in Bury, travelling between our sites across Bury, Accrington, Blackburn and Leeds.

What you’ll be doing

As part of our Maintenance Team, you’ll help keep our properties safe, functional and looking their best.

Your day-to-day work could include:

• General repairs and maintenance across our properties
• Carpentry, basic plumbing and minor electrical works
• Painting, decorating and general property improvements
• Gardening and external maintenance
• Installing and repairing fixtures, furniture and equipment
• Identifying and reporting maintenance and repair requirements
• Responding to maintenance issues promptly and professionally
• Working alongside colleagues and coordinating larger maintenance tasks
• Ensuring work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety requirements

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to be a specialist in every trade. We’re looking for someone with good all-round practical skills who can confidently turn their hand to a variety of jobs.

You’ll need:

• Previous experience within maintenance, property repairs or a trade environment
• Good practical skills across areas such as carpentry, plumbing, decorating and general repairs
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
• The ability to organise your workload and work independently
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a wider team
• A good understanding of Health & Safety
• A full UK driving licence, as regular travel between our sites is required

You’ll work across a range of sites, including children’s homes and specialist education settings, helping us provide environments where children and young people can feel safe, comfortable and supported.

Whether you’re repairing a door, decorating a bedroom, improving an outdoor space or carrying out work within one of our schools, the quality of your work contributes directly to the environments we provide for young people.

An Enhanced DBS Check will be required for this position and will be paid for by Prosperity Children’s Services.
