Job Description

Capital Services Group is looking for an experienced and highly capable Multi Trader / Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative to join our expanding maintenance division.

We are seeking a genuine all-rounder with strong practical experience across multiple trades, who is confident diagnosing problems, carrying out repairs and completing works independently to a high standard.

The role involves attending residential and commercial properties across London and the surrounding areas, undertaking a wide variety of planned and reactive maintenance works.

The successful candidate must be reliable, resourceful, well-organised and capable of managing jobs from initial assessment through to completion, with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Plumbing

• Identifying and repairing leaks
• Replacing taps, wastes, traps and fittings
• Repairing and replacing toilets and cistern components
• Installing and replacing macerators
• Diagnosing general domestic plumbing issues

Electrical Maintenance

• Replacing extractor fans and cooker hoods
• Replacing light fittings, switches and sockets
• Undertaking minor electrical repairs and fault finding
• Identifying issues requiring a qualified electrician

All electrical works must be undertaken within the operative's proven competence and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Carpentry & Joinery

• Hanging, adjusting and repairing doors
• Installing locks, handles, hinges and ironmongery
• Replacing skirting boards and architraves
• Constructing boxing-in and minor timber structures
• General carpentry repairs and making good

Painting, Decorating & General Maintenance

• Filling, sanding and preparing surfaces
• Painting walls, ceilings and woodwork
• Minor plaster repairs and making good
• General property maintenance and repairs
• Completing jobs to a high standard of finish

Requirements

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Multi Trader or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative
• Strong practical ability across plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general property maintenance
• Experience carrying out relevant minor electrical maintenance works
• Ability to diagnose faults and determine appropriate repairs independently
• Confident managing multiple maintenance jobs
• Excellent attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
• Good communication skills and professional manner when dealing with clients
• Full UK driving licence
• Reliable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
• Comfortable using a mobile phone or app to receive jobs, provide updates and submit photographs of completed works

Desirable:

• Relevant trade or electrical qualifications
• Experience working in high-end residential properties
• Previous experience in reactive and planned property maintenance
• Experience working in occupied properties and liaising directly with residents, tenants and property managers
