What they need
About us
Our vision is to be the multi-utility infrastructure partner of choice: The first people you turn to when you’re looking for someone to design and install the electricity, gas and water connections for your development.
From our operational bases in the northwest and midlands, and through our two businesses BGS Utilities and Utilities Direct, we deliver a bespoke service, tailored to each project, set of objectives and working methods, as preferred by our customers.
We’re specialists across industrial and commercial, and residential housebuilding, we’re LRQA accredited, Constructionline Gold certified and recognised by SSIP – so we can do the work. The bottom line for us though is to ensure we do it well.
Role Summary
As Project Manager, you are responsible for the successful management of multi utility projects across their full lifecycle, with an emphasis on early engagement during design and pre-construction. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring projects are well-defined, risks are mitigated early, and delivery teams are set up for success.
You’ll work closely with internal design teams, customers, service delivery teams, and external stakeholders to ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to BGS Utilities’ high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support utility projects from early design through to construction and delivery.
- Coordinate design, commercial and delivery teams to keep projects on track.
- Manage project programmes, budgets, risks and resources.
- Liaise with clients, Local Authorities, DNOs/IDNOs and other stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with required standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure project management.
- Strong planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Good commercial awareness and ability to manage project risks.
- Knowledge of utility design, construction and relevant industry standards.
- A proactive, practical and collaborative approach.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Northwest.
