H. Meyers Development is a Columbus-based real estate developer with an in-house construction arm. We find the land, secure the financing, and build the project ourselves. Because we're the developer and the builder, quality and schedule matter to us as the owner, not just the contractor.

The role

We're hiring a Project Superintendent to run ground-up multifamily rental projects from site work through certificate of occupancy. You'll own the job site day to day, manage subcontractors, and keep the work safe, on schedule, and built right. You'll report directly to the owner and have a real say in how we build.

What you'll do

• Run daily field operations on ground-up multifamily projects, from sitework and foundations through framing, MEP, finishes, and turnover
• Build and maintain the construction schedule; coordinate and sequence subcontractors and deliveries
• Lead on-site safety, including OSHA compliance, toolbox talks, and site logistics
• Hold subs to plans, specs, and quality standards; run inspections and punch lists
• Schedule and attend municipal inspections; work with the City of Columbus and surrounding jurisdictions
• Review subcontractor pay applications against work in place before they're approved
• Flag RFIs, change orders, and cost or schedule risks early
• Keep daily logs, photos, and weekly progress reports for ownership and lenders
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and utility providers

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of construction field experience, with at least 2 years as a superintendent or assistant superintendent
• Experience on ground-up multifamily (wood-frame garden, walk-up, or podium) strongly preferred
• Strong command of construction scheduling and sequencing
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings and specs
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
• Comfortable with scheduling software, email, and digital daily logs
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Central Ohio job sites
• Direct communicator who can hold subs accountable while keeping good relationships

Nice to have: experience with Columbus-area permitting and inspections, an established local subcontractor network, and familiarity with lender draw inspections.
