What they need

Company Description

Waypoint Seismic specializes in seismic and structural design that supports critical infrastructure, power systems, and the broader built environment. The organization focuses on delivering resilient engineering solutions that help protect communities and essential services from seismic risk. Work at Waypoint Seismic often involves collaboration with public agencies, utilities, and private clients committed to high safety and performance standards. Team members have the opportunity to contribute to technically challenging projects that make a tangible impact on long-term infrastructure reliability and community resilience.

Role Description

We are seeking to fill a two full time positions, structural designer and design/project engineer, for our Vancouver Washington office location. Both positions are full-time positions. Hybrid work will be considered and will depend on experience. Team members in these multiple positions may support seismic and structural design projects, assist with technical analyses, prepare drawings and documentation, and help coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Typical day-to-day activities can include reviewing project requirements, contributing to design calculations, supporting project managers with schedules and deliverables, and participating in quality assurance processes. Employees are expected to collaborate regularly with colleagues in the office, communicate clearly with clients and partners, and maintain organized project records and reports.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical skills in structural or civil engineering, seismic analysis, or related disciplines that support design and evaluation of infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with engineering software tools (e.g., structural analysis programs, CAD/BIM platforms) and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including attention to detail in calculations, documentation, and project coordination.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and preparing clear reports and presentations.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks across multiple projects, work both independently and collaboratively, and adapt to changing priorities in a hybrid work environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field; professional engineering licensure or progress toward licensure is beneficial.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning, with an interest in long-term growth within seismic and structural design.
