Job Title: Business Technology Support – Global Markets IT

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Technology Support professional to join the Global Markets Technology team in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end production environment for Murex and associated Global Markets technologies , working closely with front-office users, technology teams, infrastructure teams, operations, risk functions and global stakeholders.

The role will focus on ensuring the stability, availability and performance of business-critical trading applications , while proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes, automate operational activities and enhance the overall technology environment.

This position provides broad exposure to Global Markets technology and trading businesses, including FX, Rates, Commodities, eCommerce and Operations .

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Application Support

• Provide second-line production support for front-office trading, risk, market data and related Global Markets applications.
• Support Murex and associated trading technologies across the production environment.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, application issues, data problems and system integration failures.
• Prioritise production stability, break-fix activities and service improvements while effectively managing stakeholder expectations.
• Proactively identify and minimise technology and operational risks across the application and underlying technology stack.
• Monitor application performance, batch processes and critical production workflows.
• Ensure relevant SLAs and OLAs are understood and maintained for business-critical processes.
• Understand upstream and downstream dependencies and the potential business impact of system or batch failures.
• Support logical access management and ensure relevant security procedures and policies are followed.
• Understand and support Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management requirements.

Incident, Problem & Change Management

• Perform detailed investigation and root-cause analysis of production incidents.
• Identify recurring problems and implement measures to reduce repeat incidents.
• Maintain clear and accurate incident, problem and change records.
• Work with development and infrastructure teams to resolve complex production issues.
• Ensure appropriate due diligence is performed following major or recurring incidents.
• Participate in change planning, release management and production deployment activities.
• Follow established ITIL, incident, problem and change management processes .

Technology Improvement & Automation

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve production stability, operational efficiency and user experience .
• Explore and apply AI and automation technologies , including Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot and other relevant tools.
• Automate repetitive support, monitoring, reconciliation and operational activities where appropriate.
• Use data and analytics to identify trends, recurring incidents and opportunities for service improvement.
• Contribute to the development of minor application enhancements and technology improvements.

Data, SQL & Technical Analysis

• Use SQL to investigate production issues, analyse data and support reconciliation activities.
• Investigate data flows across trading applications, databases and downstream systems.
• Support data-quality analysis, reconciliation and operational controls.
• Understand system integrations, interfaces and dependencies across the Global Markets technology environment.
• Perform testing and validation of application functionality following fixes or enhancements.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical and operational documentation.
• Document application architecture, data flows, system integrations and dependencies.
• Maintain release, deployment, administration and support documentation.
• Maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity documentation.
• Develop and update Wiki pages, operational procedures and user/support instructions.
• Ensure known errors, fixes and workarounds are captured within appropriate knowledge repositories.
• Participate in peer reviews and constructively challenge technical designs to achieve optimal solutions.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

• Build strong working relationships with traders, business users, operations teams and technology stakeholders .
• Work closely with application development teams to ensure early engagement in technology changes and initiatives.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and platform support teams to maintain production stability and availability.
• Work with risk and control functions to ensure technology risks are properly identified, documented and mitigated.
• Collaborate with globally distributed technology teams across different regions and time zones.
• Support other members of the wider technology organisation as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Practical experience supporting business-critical applications within Financial Markets, Capital Markets or banking technology environments .
• Good understanding of financial markets, trading environments and associated operational processes .
• Strong production/application support experience, including incident investigation, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis .
• Hands-on experience using SQL for data investigation, reconciliation and production support.
• Understanding of databases, data processing, interfaces and system integrations.
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, automation or data analytics technologies .
• Understanding of ITIL principles, incident management, problem management and change management .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a high-pressure production environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable operating within a dynamic and changing environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting Murex or a comparable front-to-back trading platform .
• Understanding of Murex environments supporting Front Office, Middle Office, Risk and Operations .
• Familiarity with financial-market platforms and services such as Bloomberg, Reuters/LSEG or comparable trading and market-data systems .
• Exposure to Python, PowerShell or other scripting/automation technologies .
• Knowledge of modern data technologies and data-processing environments.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability tools.
• Understanding of data quality, reconciliation and operational controls .
• Previous experience within an investment bank, financial institution or Global Markets environment .
• Experience supporting globally distributed users and stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.
• Degree qualification or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technology professional who combines Global Markets knowledge with strong production support and technical problem-solving capabilities .

You should be comfortable working directly with business users and technology teams, investigating complex production issues, analysing data using SQL and understanding how trading applications interact across the wider technology ecosystem.

Experience with Murex is highly desirable , together with an interest in using AI, automation and modern technology tools to improve application support, operational efficiency and production stability.
