About the Role

Fortune Wind Digital is looking for a detail oriented and organised Music Distribution & Release Operations Intern to support our digital music distribution and release operations.

The role will involve preparing and managing release information, maintaining metadata, supporting music pitching to major digital streaming platforms, and ensuring that music and related content are properly prepared for delivery to our distribution platforms.

This role is suitable for someone who is interested in music distribution, digital streaming platforms, music operations, A&R, music technology and the business side of the music industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Update and maintain the monthly music release sheet.
• Maintain and update the Merlin metadata sheet to ensure accurate and complete release information.
• Prepare clear and engaging pitching statements for new music releases.
• Support the pitching of music releases to platforms including Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer.
• Update and maintain the weekly music pitching form.
• Prepare Curve templates and other required materials for music ingestion.
• Prepare and organise content and release materials for upload to Labelcamp.
• Review release information and metadata for accuracy before submission.
• Ensure required release materials are properly organised and available for distribution.
• Support the Country Manager with general digital distribution and release operations when required.

Requirements

• Interest in the music industry and digital music distribution.
• Good understanding of or willingness to learn about platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and other DSPs.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when working with music metadata and release information.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Good written communication skills, particularly for preparing pitching statements.
• Ability to work with spreadsheets and manage information accurately.
• Ability to follow processes and meet release deadlines.
• Willingness to learn about music distribution, DSP operations and the commercial side of the music industry.

Working Arrangement

This is a hybrid role.

Office days are:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Remote work days are:

Tuesday and Thursday

Working hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
