Music Instructor

Position Summary
Rare Spark Lessons is hiring Music Instructors, specifically piano and voice. You will be responsible for teaching one on one music lessons with beginner to advanced students in a variety of genres. This is an entry level role that will help our school grow.
We’re looking for multi-instrumentalists, music producers, composers, songwriters, and musicians who want to share the gift of music with others. This role requires experience in the music industry and/or college education. Knowledge of rhythm, harmony, and note reading are required. Your day-to-day work will be during after school hours (3pm - 8pm) or weekend mornign hours to afternoon (10am-4pm). The private lessons are a half to an hour long and group lessons are an hour or more long.

Responsibilities

● Teaching a variety of genres / history or music
● Get kids excited for quarterly tests and rewards in the different topics of Theory, Harmony & Ear Training, Rhythm, and Technique
● Preparing students for recitals/ performances

● Assisting with performances at container park for the Art Festivals and group lessons

Qualifications
● 2+ years of music education
● Being proficient at reading music
● Being skilled at performing on your instrument(s)
● 2+ years experience in the music industry

Hours & Compensation
● $30 - $40/hr (depending on experience)
● Part-time

Additional Information

● Knowledge of the psychology of different ages and how to teach them is important (bonus if you can teach under age 8 years old)
● Your ability to attract/ retain students is important and your schedule may not be full immediately

About the Company
Rare Spark Lessons was founded in 2021 and provides after school music instrument and voice lessons to the Summerlin/SW Las Vegas area. Since it has opened, we have grown quickly. All instructors are currently in the music industry in some way and/or college educated in music and are excited to share the gift of music with kids using a variety of modalities.

We believe training is not confined to one musical style. We are a unique school, because no matter what kind of music students are interested in, they will learn the proper methods and techinques. So the slogan we exist to "Ignite Curiosity for Music" - all music is important. There are twice yearly recitals, monthly instrument and vocal performance workshops, and various events in the summer. Instructors meet the students wherever they are to help them get to their next best level.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
